Pricing & Limits
Riven has two pricing tracks — one for static sites, one for web services — because they cost very differently to run. Both start free. Everything's in rupees, with a proper GST invoice.
Two tracks, separate plans
Static sites and web services are billed separately. A static site is just files, soit's cheap. A web service runs a live process, so it's priced for compute. You can run apps on both tracks from the same account, each on its own plan.
This means you're never overpaying — a simple frontend stays on the cheap static track, while only your actual server apps use the compute track.
Static Site plans
For frontend apps that build into static files.
| Plan | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Free | ₹0 | Personal projects, portfolios, testing |
| Pro | ₹299/mo | More sites, higher bandwidth, custom domains |
Static sites are always available and served from the CDN — no cold starts on any plan.
Web Service plans
For apps that run a server — APIs, backends, server-rendered apps. Named after stages of growth.
| Plan | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Ankur | ₹0 | Trying things out, hobby APIs |
| Udaan | ₹599/mo | Small production apps |
| Pragati | ₹1,499/mo | Growing apps with steady traffic |
| Shikhar | ₹3,499/mo | Serious apps needing more compute & always-on |
Each plan comes with a set amount of CPU, memory, and bandwidth. Higher plans get more of each, plus the always-on option. See your dashboard for the exact allowances on each plan.
How billing works
Plans are billed monthly, in rupees, through Razorpay. You can pay with UPI, cards, or netbanking — all the ways you normally pay in India, no international card needed.
- You're billed at the start of each billing cycle.
- Every payment comes with a GST invoice you can download.
- You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime from your dashboard.
See Billing & Invoices for more on payments and invoices.
Understanding limits
Each plan sets a few limits. The main ones:
- Number of services — how many apps you can run on that track at once.
- Compute — the CPU and memory each web service gets.
- Bandwidth — how much traffic your apps can serve per month.
If you hit a limit — say you want to deploy more services than your plan allows — Riven tells you and points you to upgrade. Nothing breaks silently; you'll always know why.
The free tier
Both tracks start free — the Static Free plan and the Web Service Ankur plan. These are real, usable tiers, not a trial that expires. You can build and ship a project on the free tier and never pay, as long as you stay within its limits.
When your project grows past what free allows, upgrading is one click — and only for the track that needs it.
