Riven

Terms & Conditions

Last updated 26 September 2026

1. About these Terms

Riven Deploy (“Riven”, “we”, “us”) is a sole proprietorship owned and run by Aakash Mistry in Maharashtra, India. Our registration details are on the Business Details Page.

These Terms are an agreement between you and Riven. They apply when you visit rivendeploy.com, create an account, or use any Riven service. Our Privacy Policy, Data Processing Agreement and Pricing Page form part of these Terms. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use Riven.

2. Who can use Riven

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • If you use Riven for a company or organisation, you confirm that you’re allowed to accept these Terms on its behalf, and “you” includes that organisation.
  • You must not be barred from using the service under Indian law or by an earlier suspension from Riven.

3. Your account

  • Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your sign-in details, personal access tokens and connected GitHub account secure. You’re responsible for what happens under your account and your workspaces, including actions by members you invite.
  • Workspace owners decide who has access and which role they have. When a workspace is transferred, the new owner takes on these responsibilities once they accept.
  • Tell us at [email protected] straight away if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.

4. What Riven provides

Riven is a platform for deploying and running software. Depending on your plan, it includes:

  • Static site hosting
  • Web services, private services, background workers and cron jobs
  • Managed PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB and Valkey databases
  • Custom domains with free SSL certificates
  • Workspaces with roles, invitations and audit logs
  • A CLI, personal access tokens and an MCP server

Plan limits are listed on the pricing page. We improve Riven regularly and may add, change or remove features. If we remove a paid feature you rely on, we’ll email you before it happens.

5. Plans, billing and taxes

  • Prices are in Indian rupees and shown on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed monthly, in advance, per workspace, through Razorpay (UPI, cards or netbanking).
  • Paid plans that include bandwidth charge the per-GB rate shown on the plan for usage above the included amount. Free plans pause at their limit until the next cycle.
  • Upgrades and downgrades apply from your next billing cycle.
  • If a payment fails, we’ll email you. If it stays unpaid, we may move the workspace to the free tier or pause paid services until it’s paid.
  • We’ll email you at least 30 days before any price change. A change never affects a billing cycle you’ve already paid for.
  • Riven isn’t registered for GST, so no GST is added to your bill and our invoices don’t include GST. If that changes, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before GST appears on your bill.

6. Cancellation and refunds

  • You can cancel a paid plan at any time from your dashboard. You won’t be charged again, and you keep the paid plan until the end of the cycle you’ve paid for. After that, the workspace moves to the free tier and its limits apply.
  • We don’t refund the current billing cycle or give partial refunds for unused days, except in the cases below.

We will refund you in full for a billing cycle if:

  • you were charged twice for the same thing;
  • you were charged after you cancelled;
  • you were charged the wrong amount; or
  • a problem on our side, not in your own code, kept your paid services down for more than 72 hours in total during that cycle.

To ask for a refund, email [email protected] within 30 days of the charge, with your invoice number or Razorpay payment ID. We reply within 2 business days. Approved refunds are started within 3 business days and go back to your original payment method through Razorpay. Most banks show them within 5 to 7 business days.

Nothing in this section limits your rights under Indian consumer protection law.

7. Acceptable use

You must not use Riven to host, run or send anything that:

  • is illegal in India, or helps someone break the law;
  • is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, harmful to children, defamatory, or invades someone’s privacy;
  • infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights, or is content you don’t have the right to share;
  • impersonates another person, or is deliberately false or misleading;
  • threatens the unity, integrity, security or sovereignty of India, or public order;
  • is malware, phishing, spam, or a tool for attacking or scanning other systems;
  • mines cryptocurrency, or runs open proxies or anonymising relays;
  • collects, stores or processes card data directly (you may use a licensed payment gateway such as Razorpay or Stripe, as long as card data never passes through Riven), unless we’ve agreed to it in writing.

You also must not try to access other customers’ data or our internal systems, get around plan limits or security controls, or overload the platform.

8. Resource limits and platform protection

  • Free web services sleep when idle and wake on the next request.
  • Riven runs on shared infrastructure. To protect other customers, we may pause a service that keeps crashing, uses far more than its plan allows, or breaks section 7. We’ll email the workspace owner with the reason and what to do next.

9. Your content and data

  • You own your code, content and data (“Customer Data”). You give us permission to store, copy, run and serve it only as needed to provide Riven to you.
  • For personal data inside your apps and databases, you are the Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and we act as your Data Processor under our Data Processing Agreement. You’re responsible for having a lawful basis for that data and for handling your own users’ requests.
  • We don’t access Customer Data except to give support you ask for, to keep the platform secure and stable, or when Indian law requires it.
  • If we confirm a breach affecting your account or Customer Data, we’ll email you without undue delay and within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, and help you meet your own reporting obligations.

10. Backups and data loss

Managed databases are backed up automatically every day and kept for the period your plan allows. Backups reduce the risk of losing data, but they don’t remove it. Keep your own copies of anything you can’t afford to lose, and keep your source code in your own repository.

11. Availability

We work to keep Riven running, but standard plans don’t include an uptime guarantee or SLA. Riven currently runs on a single-server setup, as explained on our Security page. We announce planned maintenance in advance when we can, and incidents are shown on our status page. If you need an SLA, talk to us before you commit.

12. Suspension and termination

  • You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected].
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, puts the platform or other customers at risk, stays unpaid, or that Indian law requires us to act on. Where the problem isn’t urgent, we’ll email you first and give you a chance to fix it.
  • When an account is closed at your request or for non-payment, your data stays available for export for 10 days, then we delete it. Where an account is closed for illegal use, abuse or a security threat, we may remove data immediately, except data the law requires us to keep.

13. If Riven shuts down

If we ever decide to shut Riven down, we’ll email you at least 60 days before the shutdown date. Your data stays available for export for that whole period, and we’ll refund any amount you’ve paid for time after the shutdown date. This doesn’t cover individual accounts closed under section 12, or cases where the law requires immediate action.

14. Third-party services

Riven relies on providers such as AWS, Razorpay and GitHub, listed in our Privacy Policy. We choose them carefully, but we don’t control them, and their own terms apply to your use of their services.

15. Our intellectual property

The Riven platform, software, website, name and logo belong to us. These Terms don’t give you ownership of any of them. You may not copy, reverse engineer or resell the platform, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you, without our written permission. The “Deploy to Riven” button may be used as intended in your READMEs.

16. Confidentiality

We keep your non-public information, such as your code, secrets and business details, confidential and use it only to provide Riven. If we share non-public information with you, for example under an NDA, please do the same.

17. Disclaimer

Apart from what these Terms expressly promise, Riven is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent Indian law allows, we don’t give other warranties, such as that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

18. Limitation of liability

  • We aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue, business opportunities or goodwill.
  • Our total liability for any claim relating to Riven is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t be limited under Indian law, including for fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

19. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because of your content, your apps, or your breach of these Terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim.

20. Events outside our control

We aren’t responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, power or internet outages, government action, or large-scale attacks. We’ll keep you informed through email and the status page.

21. Reporting abuse and grievances

To report illegal content or abuse hosted on Riven, or to raise a complaint about these Terms, contact our Grievance Officer: Aakash Mistry, Proprietor, at [email protected]. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days, in line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

22. Disputes and governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a dispute with us, please email [email protected] first. We’ll try to resolve it with you within 30 days.

If we can’t, the dispute will be settled by a sole arbitrator under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat of arbitration is Mumbai, Maharashtra, and it will be conducted in English. Courts in Mumbai have jurisdiction for interim relief and enforcement. This doesn’t affect any right you have to approach a consumer commission.

23. Changes to these Terms

For material changes, we’ll email account holders at least 15 days before they take effect. Small changes, such as fixing typos or making wording clearer, take effect when we post them. The date at the top always shows the latest version. If you don’t agree with a change, you can close your account before it takes effect.

Built for Bharat

Made in India, for the people building India.

We're not a Silicon Valley platform with a .in landing page bolted on. Riven is built here, by a developer who's hit the same walls you have — the forex declines, the high-latency US servers, the pricing that assumes you earn in dollars.

Every decision we make starts with one question: does this help an Indian developer ship faster? If the answer is no, it doesn't make the cut.

From the student deploying their first project for a hackathon, to the startup running production for thousands of users — this is your home base.
