Billing & Invoices
Riven bills in rupees, through Razorpay, with a proper GST invoice for every payment. Pay the way you already do in India — UPI, cards, or netbanking — no international card, no forex surprises.
How billing works
When you upgrade to a paid plan, Riven sets up a monthly subscription through Razorpay. You're charged automatically at the start of each billing cycle, and you get an invoice each time. Everything is managed from your Billing page in the dashboard.
Static and web service plans are billed separately, so you might have more than one active plan — each shows up on your billing page with its own cycle and invoices.
Payment methods
Because Riven runs on Razorpay, you can pay with any method Razorpay supports in India:
- UPI — GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, and any UPI app.
- Cards — Indian debit and credit cards.
- Netbanking — directly from your bank.
No international card is needed, and you're never billed in dollars. That's the whole point — hosting that bills the way you actually pay.
Billing cycle
Paid plans bill monthly. Your cycle starts the day you subscribe, and renews on the same date each month. You're charged automatically at each renewal, so your services keep running without interruption.
You can see your current plan, next renewal date, and payment history anytime on your Billing page.
GST invoices
Every payment generates a GST invoice automatically. Each invoice includes the details you need for your records or to claim input credit — your billing name, address, GSTIN (if you've added one), the plan, and the tax breakdown.
- Find all your invoices on the Billing page under invoice history.
- Download any invoice as a PDF whenever you need it.
Running a registered business? Add your GSTIN and billing details before you subscribe, so they appear correctly on every invoice from the start.
Billing details
Your billing details — name, address, and GSTIN — go on your invoices. Set them up on the Billing page under billing information. Keeping them accurate means your invoices are valid for accounting and GST purposes from day one.
You can update these anytime. Changes apply to future invoices; past invoices stay as they were issued.
If a payment fails
Sometimes a renewal payment doesn't go through — an expired card, insufficient balance, or a bank decline. If that happens:
- Riven notifies you so you can fix it.
- You can retry the payment or update your payment method from the Billing page.
- Your services keep running for a short grace period while you sort it out — they'renot cut off the moment a payment fails.
Once the payment succeeds, everything continues as normal. If it stays unresolved, paid features fall back to what the free tier allows.
